Carmen Catania (from 2004 - 2005)
I have moved in many directions since my association with Da Capo. My wife, Sonja, has passed away and I have remarried a beautiful pianist, Mary Lou, who keeps me honest and playing in a lively sextet. I, also perform in two big bands in Green Valley, AZ and have performed in the local concert band and Bavarian band, which I directed.
My remembrance of La Crosse always brings good memories of starting the Da Capo band with my good friend, Frank Italiano. Directing Da Capo provided me with many great friends and introduced me to many fine musicians I didn't know existed in the La Crosse area.
Green Valley, AZ is south of Tucson and at a higher elevation which gives a slightly cooler daily temperature. I love the mountains but miss the fishing of Wisconsin and the beautiful home I owned on the Nothern lake. My final teaching position was at the University of Wisconsin in Wausau. My connection with Wisconsin will never leave me, Go Packers.
